Here at CustomFragranceLamps.com you get what you pay for. This practice is becoming LESS and LESS apparent WITH OTHER COMPANIES and getting what you THINK you are getting; is a fortuitous event. Let me explain. Being the kind of person who looks for a bargain, I have become more and more disenchanted by many companies out there selling fragrance lamps, including those which toot their horn for being selected to sell the lamps made exclusively in France - some even guarantee the 'possibility' of increased value as time passes. I have indeed found, the fact is, many of these lamps from a number of companies are PAINTED. They are either sold as glass, ceramic or porcelain lamps - which only tells me the people selling them don't have a clue as to what they are selling. If they can't be honest or, if I were to give them the benefit of the doubt and excuse them for misrepresenting their wears, SOMEONE should tell them - either the wholesale vendor or an unsatisfied customer - they are charging outrageous amounts of money for CLEAR GLASS LAMPS which have been "lacquered" with either a fauxe (fake) look of etched glass or made to look like translucent or opaque glass - all under the guise and illusion of colored glass, ceramic, porcelain, etc., WITHOUT making it clear to ME the consumer, what I am buying. This to me is a misrepresentation of an overpriced clear glass lamp. These OTHER sites should make a clear and unmistakable statement the lamps have been painted. Then "I" can decide if I want to pay $100.00 for a lamp which would hardly last long enough to go into the family chest for future generations. At best I have been lucky to get a few months out of them looking new before they start to scratch, dull or chip. This, to me, is outrageous. A rip-off. An insult to my intelligence. A downright unethical deceptive business practice. Need I go on?

One thing is for sure. In spite of what has been taking place with fragrance lamp deception in the last few years - Makes-Scents.com has kept their head above it all. You not only get what you are paying for but infinitely more. An honest merchant who is selling you exactly what they claim and selling it all at a price which is unbeatable. In these economically difficult times, it is easy to take the low road yet Makes-scents.com has kept their head above it all.

My package arrived last week and I couldn't have been happier. I ordered the Midsummer's Night and Lilac Blossom. I opened them immediately and filled my fragrance lamp with the Midsummer's Night. I have been collecting [LB] Fragrance Lampes, since 1986. I also have a select number of fragrance lamps made by other companies. As you might imagine, in an effort to get a good quality wick, I have tried EVERY stone/wick assembly on the market. Your 'Slow Burn' Fragrance Lamp Replacement Wick is the best wick I have ever used. Your 'Slow Burn' wick is far superior to every brand of regular wick and 'special' wick on the market. I have no doubt it even beats [LB]'s old AND new catalytic burner. I purchased two of the [LB] wicks at the same time as I purchased your Slow Burn wicks. Your wicks fire up every time and hold their heat and glow until the last drop of fuel has been consumed. The [LB wicks] are inconsistent both at the lighting phase AND holding heat for the duration - I find them to be a waste of $22.00. I will be ordering your Slow Burn Wicks as long as you carry them. I like them best for three reasons: They light each and every time. They hold a good glow from start to finish - whether I am burning my lamp for one hour or six hours they remain hot. And I have yet to use a wick which has a scent throw which comes close. They may be burning slower (I don't know) but they scent each and every room faster than anything I have tried before. I will continue to buy them six at a time, until I have every single person I have ever given a fragrance lamp to, using them. Once they are hooked, they're yours because I will only give one per person as a gift. I am also using them at my business and my customers notice the scented air before they open the store door. Something which has never happened with any other wick. They're terrific. Even better than the gear shaped two piece comparable wick. Please keep the same design as long as you can.

I have quit burning candles because the fragrance lamps are so much more convenient. A friend gave me a Circle E Bird of Paradise candle for Christmas, the same scent I have admired burning in her home. So I had to try it. I liked it so much I burned a 28-ounce candle in less than 30 days (and that was after work and the weekends.) Anyway when I was looking to try something new (my standard favorites, Lemon Verbena and Baby Powder) I came across Bird of Paradise on your list. I just got my package of fragrance oil. I am so excited. We actually keep a small lamp at work that we all burn occasionally. So I tried it. We lit the candle and smelled. We lit the lamp and smelled. No one could tell the difference in the scents. You must have the best sense of smell to be able to match scents like that. I can't wait to get my oil home to burn it. I have to tell you I love your products that I ordered. I recently bought a La Tee Da lamp and loved the process and how well the scent stayed in the house. I went through so much oil that it got to be to expensive so I got on line and found you guys. I also thought the price of the La Tee Da lamp was to pricey, so I ordered one of yours, I have to say I am totally pleased with the performance of your lamp. I love the new setup for the fragrances. Sorting them into groups such as the best sellers makes me a lot more comfortable spending money on scents I haven't tried. I plan on trying some new ones from there now. I buy my fragrances according to the seasons (clean smells during spring/summer and bakery/holiday during fall and winter) and sometimes I just can't find the time to sort through the whole list and place my order.
